Greenwich Police ID N.Y. Woman Killed By Car

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich police have identified the New York woman who died after being struck by a car while crossing King Street on Tuesday morning.

Yani Baca, 51, of Elmsford, N.Y., died of her injuries at Greenwich Hospital. She was struck while she crossed King Street near Anderson Hill Road at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, Lt. Kraig Gray said Wednesday. 

Police are continuing the investigation into the fatal accident, and no charges have been filed, he said.

She was struck by a northbound car, Gray said. That driver was not injured. Baca, a housecleaner, was crossing the street with a co-worker when the accident occurred. The co-worker was not injured.
