YORKTOWN, N.Y. - An unidentified man was taken to Hudson Valley Medical Center after suffering traumatic arrest following a one-car crash Tuesday afternoon on the Taconic State Parkway, Yorktown fire officials said.

Members of Yorktown Heights Engine Co No. 1 removed the man from his vehicle around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The man was not conscious when firefighters removed him from the vehicle and firefighters attempted CPR, fire officials said. The man was transported to Hudson Valley Medical Center for further treatment. The status of the man was unclear Tuesday afternoon.

The man was the only one involved in the crash and fire officials said no one else was injured. The northbound lanes of the Taconic State Parkway were shut down temporarily following the crash but reopened to traffic later in the afternoon.
