Metro-North Still Without Service After Hurricane Sandy

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Metro-North Railroad trains were still not running Tuesday evening due to debris from Hurricane Sandy and the storm's impact in the area, according to the railroad’s Twitter account.

There were trees down and signal and power outages in the railroad’s territory, according to Metro-North. There has also been damage from flooding.

Metro-North was assessing the damage to the right-of-way and other critical infrastructure, the account said. The railroad was working to supply as much service as possible, when it is safe to do so.

The most recent updates were given at about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.
