Skies will remain cloudy Wednesday with an 80 percent chance of snow. High temperatures will be about 37 degrees so little or no accumulation is expected.
Snow showers will change over to rain on Thursday, with the highs once again of about 37 degrees, but wind gusts could make it feel much colder. The chance of rain and snow is 40 percent.
The storm will finally begin to exit the area Friday, with a chance of a lingering shower or two in the morning before becoming partly sunny by afternoon.
Rainfall totals eclipsed the 2-inch mark in most of Fairfield County with the latest storm. Here's a look at the localized rain totals from Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service:
- New Canaan: 3.06 inches
- Fairfield: 2.99 inches
- Danbury: 2.81 inches
- Norwalk: 2.80 inches
- Stamford: 2.69 inches
- Danbury Airport: 2.31 inches
- Bridgeport Airport: 2.13 inches
- Saugatuck: 1.25 inches
