WILTON, Conn. – Wilton residents voted in favor of a total $107.1 million budget for the next fiscal year during last week's Annual Town Meeting. Here's a look at this and other top stories from the past week.

? Registered Wilton voters had their chance last week to vote on the proposed town and education budgets. after polls closed Saturday night, results showed the majority of those who voted were in favor of the budgets. Only 6.9 percent of registered voters turned out.

? One commuter train derailed and hit another during Friday evening's rush hour near the Fairfield Metro train station. The National Transportation Safety Board arrived Saturday morning to lead the investigation. The wreck led to the cancellation of train service between South Norwalk and New Haven.

? Cider Mill School on Monday held a successful Read Aloud Day . The twice-yearly program encourages community leaders to read aloud to elementary school children from books hand-selected by school librarians and media specialists to promote the importance of literacy.
