Police are investigating a motor vehicle burglary after a woman reported her purse missing from her car while she was getting her nails done at Good Morning Nails in Wilton. According to police, the woman had left her Jeep Commander unlocked for about 15 minutes before locking it from inside the nail salon with the remote control on her keys. Police say the burglary probably took place inside those 15 minutes that the vehicle was unlocked because there were no signs of forced entry.
The purse was described as a brown Coach purse that contained $1,000 cash and credit cards. The credit card company reported two charges being made in a Westchester, N.Y., mall to North Face and Lucky Brand. The case remains open as police follow up with the stores hoping for leads.
