Sculptor To Help Wilton Teen Center Honor America

WILTON, Conn. – Wilton’s Trackside Teen Center will celebrate its Spring Fling later this month with the help of Wilton resident and renowned sculptor Peter Rubino.

Rubino will attend the event to display his newest sculpture, “Remembrance,” honoring Connecticut’s fallen heroes, a release says.

“It's truly a privilege to honor our fallen heroes through the symbolism and spirit of my sculpture," Rubino said. The sculptor described his piece as follows:

"The eagle's head, representing courage, strength and dignity, anchors the piece. The 'Flag of Freedom' waving proudly in the background, while embracing the many faces of our fallen heroes, conveys a promise to them that America will never forget."

“We are thrilled to have Peter attend our event and display this magnificent piece of art,” says Mark Ketley , Trackside executive director. A 12-inch replica was donated by Rubino for the silent auction, and Ketley is sure it will be a popular item.

The Spring Fling, titled “Wilton Celebrates America,” will take place Saturday, April 28, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person, $110 per couple. They can be purchased on Trackside’s website or by calling 203-834-2888.
