WILTON, Conn. -- Don't be startled if you see a helicopter landing at Allens Meadows in Wilton at about 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.
It's just a training session for Wilton emergency service agencies.
The Yale New Haven Hospital SkyHealth medical helicopter will make the landing as part of an orientation and training exercise for the Wilton Fire Department, CERT, Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Wilton Police Department.
The town hopes the helicopter will soon be available to transport critical patients to area hospitals from remote areas of town or when normal traffic routes to the hospitals are impassible.
Given the heightened sensitivity to homeland security, Wilton officials wanted to alert residents to the landing and that they don't need to be alarmed.
