FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Roads were slippery and snow-covered Friday morning, the State Police warned travelers in Fairfield County and across the state.

"Go slow if travel is necessary," State Police said via Twitter @CT_STATE_POLICE.
No major problems were reported by the state Department of Transportation, which may be because drivers reported a much lower volume of traffic after a half-foot of snow fell overnight.
State troopers have responded to 212 accidents, 25 with injuries. and more than 2,600 calls for service since the storm began Thursday, State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance said Friday morning.
Metro-North continued to run trains on a reduced Saturday schedule on Friday.
