WILTON, Conn. — Two Danbury men were arrested in Wilton on trespassing charges last week after they were seen outside a vacant home on Chestnut Hill Road, police said.
Detective Kip Tarrant was driving on Chestnut Hill Road last Tuesday afternoon when he saw a vehicle enter the driveway of the home, and then drive to the back of the residence, police said. When Tarrant went to investigate, he found Edwin Soto Jr. and Charles Hill outside the home, the arrest report said.
When asked what they were doing there, Soto, 42, said he worked for a property management company that was overseeing the empty home, police said. After contacting the company Soto claimed to work for, Tarrant learned Soto had performed lawn maintenance at the home several days earlier, but no longer had authorization to be at the home, the report said.
Soto and Hill, 50, were charged with second-degree criminal trespass and conspiracy to commit second-degree trespass, misdemeanors. Soto was released after posting a $2,000 bond and Hill was released on a promise to appear in court.
Both Soto and Hill are scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Aug. 12.
