The department said its Foods & Standards Division responded to the crash off I-95 southbound near Exit 42.

"We respond to these incidents to make sure everything gets cleaned up appropriately — and contaminated food doesn't make it into your grocery store," the DCP said via Twitter.

The crash caused large tie-ups during the Friday morning commute, closing two lanes for a time, according to the Connecticut State Police.

Minor injuries were reported in the crash, state police said. Two light poles were knocked down in the crash.
