Wilton Car Burglary Spree Continues

You should remember to click the lock button when parking your vehicles in driveways in Wilton. Seven more vehicles — in five driveways — were burglarized Sunday night or Monday early in the Thayer Pond area, according to Wilton Police. This came after last week's 11 residential vehicle break-ins. All the targeted cars were left unlocked by the owners.

"I would stress again it is best still to lock your vehicle — even in a Wilton driveway," said Lt. Donald Wakeman. It is not known how many vehicles were tried by the burglar or burglars but were locked, Wakeman said.

In the most recent rash of burglaries, a glucose meter, an iPod, two video games, a coin purse, a GPS and a pair of shoes were taken. Wakeman believes these incidents are related to last week's burglaries and said Wilton police were investigating.
