WILTON, Conn. – In its recommendations to the town of Wilton, the Economic Development Commission warns of increased business competition from surrounding towns, reports The Wilton Bulletin.

A report compiled over the last two years and sent to the Board of Selectmen shows that big commercial businesses may relocate to other towns and that bringing in new businesses could become difficult due to surfacing competition, according to the report.

Despite high commercial occupancy rates, Wilton faces strong competition from Westport and New Canaan, where the downtowns are easier to navigate and bring in a high influx of shoppers.
