Lois H. Saviano, 87, Of Wilton

WILTON, Conn. - Lois H. Saviano of Wilton died Tuesday, Dec. 9. She was 87.

Saviano was born March 10, 1927 in New Haven, to Roy and Helene (Pelka) Law. She was a graduate of Hillhouse (New Haven) High School, Class of 1944 and of Waterbury School of Nursing, Class of 1947, where she was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps. She was a volunteer at Red Cross Blood Mobiles and at F.I.S.H. She was also a girl scout leader, a former member of the Norwalk Women’s Club, the Trumbull Piecemakers, the Nutmeg Quilters Guild, and Goodwives Quilters. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, a eucharistic minister, a church council member, a Women’s Guild member, and a member of the Social Concerns Committee.

Saviano is survived by her daughter, Anne S. (Frank) (Buz) T. Parrish of San Diego, Calif.; and son, Paul G. (Carrie) Saviano of Norwalk; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson, all of Norwalk. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Gabriel A. Saviano.

Calling hours are Sunday, Dec. 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15 at St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, followed by interment at St. John’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Saviano’s name to St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church Capital Improvement Fund, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk, CT 06851. Following the burial, friends and family are invited to St. Jerome Hall for a reception.
