Marc Anthony LaMonte, 49, Of Wilton, CEO, Heidmar’s Inc.

WILTON, Conn. - Marc Anthony LaMonte, a resident of Wilton for over 15 years, died Oct. 14. He was 49.

LaMonte was born Dec. 30, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York, son of Rachel Guido LaMonte of New York City and Armand LaMonte. He was a member of the international shipping industry for 27 years. He served as president and chief executive officer of Heidmar Inc. from April 2012. Prior to becoming CEO, he had been the managing director of Heidmar’s VLCC tanker pool, Seawolf Tankers. Before joining Heidmar, he spent 16 years at Overseas Shipping Group in various positions, including vice president of OSG’s LNG tanker business. He was an associate member of the Association of Ship Brokers and Agents (USA), Inc.

LaMonte is survived by his wife, Cara Nicita LaMonte; mother, Rachel; sons, Matthew, Stefan, and Andrew all of Wilton; and sister, Leona LaMonte of Greenwich. He was predeceased by his father, Armand.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 23 and Thursday, Oct. 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan, CT 06840. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 229 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Marc LaMonte Memorial Education Fund c/o Bayer & Black P.C., 195 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897.
