DANBURY, Conn. - Marianne (Bendig) Wittkamp of Danbury died Saturday, Sept. 14. She was 77.
Wittkamp was born May 3, 1936, in Frankfurt, Germany, daughter of Artur and Maria Bendig. She attended schools in Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1959 first settling in Wilton. An area resident since 1961, she assisted in food preparation at the Danbury Senior Center and throughout the area. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Newtown.
Wittkamp is survived by her sons, Gerhard (Angela) Uwe, Peter (Carol) and Richard; daughter, Monika Carley; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Edmund Wittkamp,
There will be no calling hours. Graveside funeral services and burial will take place on Monday, Sept. 23 in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Danbury at 1 p.m.
