Bridgeport Police ID 32-Year-Old Store Clerk As Homicide Victim

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A 32-year-old Bridgeport man was identified by police as the victim in a robbery turned homicide Wednesday morning at a Bridgeport convenience store, according to the Connecticut Post.

Hakeem Joseph was shot several times in the torso  at the T. Market at 1482 Reservoir Ave. and was pronounced dead at St. Vincent's Medical Center shortly after 8 a.m., William Kaempffer, the Bridgeport police spokesman, told the Post.

The masked suspect, described as a male of medium height and weight and wearing camouflage clothing, fled on foot, the Post said. Police are examining the store's surveillance video and brought in canines to search the area, the Post said. 

It was the second homicide of the year in Bridgeport.
