Car Fire Causes Wood Pile To Ignite In Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- A went up in flames on Johns Road in Brookfield Thursday morning, and caused a nearby wood pile to ignite as well, fire officials said.

Both Brookfield fire companies responded to the fire at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived, they found the car to be fully involved with fire, and the adjacent wood pile had caught fire as well, fire officials said.

Fire officials said the bulk of the fire was extinguished within minutes of the two engines arriving on scene. There were no injuries reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brookfield Fire Marshal's office.
