WILTON, Conn. -- A contractor and his employee are facing charges after one of them lay down in front of a delivery truck and the other blocked it in during a dispute over construction materials at a home renovation in Wilton, police said.

Edward C. Leblond, Jr., 31, of 58 Chambers Road, Danbury, and Thomas C. Galvin, 21, of 2864 Hedwig Drive, Yorktown Heights, N.Y., are each charged with one count of disorderly conduct.

On June 23, Leblond, who runs Cruden Bay Contracting, was renovating a home at 121 Middlebrook Farm Road in Wilton when a delivery truck arrived, police said.

Leblond initially refused to take the materials because they didn't meet his specifications, police said. As the driver prepared to leave, Leblond said he wanted the sliding doors that were in the trailer, police said. The driver refused and said he couldn't allow only part of the load to be taken off the truck, police said.

Leblond lay down in front of the truck to prevent it from leaving, police said. His employee, Galvin, moved his personal truck in front of the delivery truck to prevent it from leaving, police said.

Leblond then cut the lock off the tractor-trailer, and he and his employees took certain items from the delivery truck, police said.

Leblond and Galvin were released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on Monday.
