FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The Connecticut State Police advise drivers traveling on a major artery to report debris or a reckless motorist.
In the last few days, the State Police Public Information Office has received numerous phone calls from motorists trying to report the dangerous road conditions on state highways, police said on Facebook.
Troopers consider these true emergencies because they are hazardous situations that could lead to accidents and injuries, according to police.
Drivers that see a reckless driver or debris in the roadway that might cause accidents are encouraged to call 911 immediately.
These are dangers that warrant a response from troopers, said police.
Calling 911 is the fastest way for state police to locate an unsafe driver or an obstacle on the roadway.
