The 63-year-old man reported the theft on Sunday, July 30. He told police that he had been away for a period of a few weeks, and had discovered on July 27 that between 24 and 36 bottles of wine were missing from his wine cellar. Other bottles had been moved around in an apparent attempt to disguise the fact that bottles were missing, police said.

The home had been listed for sale and numerous  people had been in and around the home, including in the wine cellar, during the time frame of the reported theft, according to police. There were no signs of forced entry into either the home or the wine cellar, police said.

The preliminary value of the missing win was placed at approximately $3,000, but police said the resident is in the process of compiling a detailed list of the missing bottles. There are no suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
