Former Fairfield High School Coach Charged In Sex Assault

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — John Tejada, who coached the fencing teams at Fairfield Warde and Ludlowe high schools, has been charged in the sexaul assault of a student, Fairfield police say.

Tejada, 36, of Chesire, coached at the high schools from 2010 to 2012. He was placed on administrative leave by the school district on Feb. 23, 2012 and resigned shortly after that, police said. 

He also was a fencing coach at Wakeman’s Boys and Girls Club in Southport and the Fairfield Fencing Academy at 85 Mill Plain Road, police said. 

Tejada was arrested at the Fairfield Police Department on Thursday and charged with sexual assault in the second degree. He was released on a $150,000 bond.
