Have You Seen Him? Brookfield Police Seek Info On Bank Robbery Suspect

BROOKFIELD, Conn. — About three hours after a Brookfield bank was hit by a robber on Friday, police released a photo of the suspect in a baseball hat.

The Newtown Savings Bank branch office at 99 Federal Road was robbed at 8:55 a.m. Friday, Brookfield police said. The location is in a busy retail area near an exit ramp off Route 7, near the Danbury border.

The lone suspect was described as a 5-foot-10 black male with a medium build. He was wearing a dark baseball cap with a distinctive white stripe, a gray-hooded sweatshirt, black pants and military-style work boots. 

As the bank was opening, he presented a note to a teller demanding money but did not display a weapon, police said. 

The suspect exited the bank and turned right on foot, police said. 

A New Haven Police Department K-9 tracked the suspect toward the nearby Grays Bridge Road, where the track was lost, police said.
