Man Charged With Strangling 10-Year-Old Girl In Wilton

WILTON, Conn. — A 53-year-old New Haven man was arrested in Wilton after police said he strangled his girlfriend's 10-year-old daughter during an argument, according to the Hour.

Wilton Police told the Hour that Edwin Gonzalez, 53, was having an argument with his girlfriend on Sunday evening when he then began choking the girlfriend's daughter. The daughter then called the police, who arrived and arrested Gonzalez, according to the Hour.

Police charged Gonzalez with unlawful restrain, rick of injury to a minor, second-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct, according to the Hour. He was held on a $20,000 bond and appeared in court the next day, the Hour reported.
