NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- New Canaan Police are warning residents to protect their belongings and don't leave their vehicles unlocked.

Vehicles were entered overnight on White Oak Shade Road, New Canaan Police said on Twitter. They are urging residents not to leave valuables or keys inside cars.

New Canaan is not the only community that has been hit by recent burglaries of unlocked cars. Darien recently had a string of cars that were entered after being left unlocked.

In one case, thieves drove off with a $50,000 Porsche that had been left unlocked with the keys inside.
