Albert Koenig, 57, was found dead in his Scribner Hill home on Thursday, March 15, said Lt. Robert Kluk.

Following his death, police received information that several people may be coming to the area to break into his home, Kluk added.

After receiving the tip, officers began keeping an eye on the home, "doing checks," to make sure the home was secure, Kluk said.

During one of the "drive-bys," officers found a person in the drive-way and upon further inspection four more inside the home.

The five told police they were there to "pay their respects," but police said they found a crowbar in the group's possession. Police believe the group may have been at the home to steal items, although none of the suspects had taken anything from the home.

The group was arrested and charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal trespass, conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit criminal trespass, Kluk said.

Those arrested included Sandra Caba-Hernandez, 53; Hector De Los Santos, 35; Jose Herrera, 30; Karolin Herrera, 26, and Yocasta Valdez, 55, all of Massachusets.

They are being held on $2,500 bonds, and are scheduled to appear in court on March 28.
