Police: Wilton Homeowner Chases Car Thief Into The Woods

WILTON, Conn. -- The owner of a home on Bob White Lane in Wilton chased a suspicious person into the woods and later discovered that that same person may have stolen his car, according to police.

At 12:30 a.m. Friday, April 14, police responded to a home on Bob White Lane on a report of a suspicious person walking around the property and ringing the doorbell. The owner chased the person into a wooded area and lost sight of him, police said. The suspect was described as a white male, 6 feet tall, and wearing blue jeans and long sleeves. 

Officers canvassed the area but were unable to find the suspicious person.

At around 7:15 a.m. that morning, the owner of the home noticed that his car had been stolen out of the driveway. It had been left unlocked with the keys inside it, police said. It is presumed that the car was taken by the suspicious person, according to police.
