Second Man Charged In Street Robbery, Assault In Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. — Danbury police made a second arrest in an early morning street robbery that sent two men to the hospital earlier this month, police said.

On Monday morning, Samuel Mills, 48, of Danbury, turned himself in to the Danbury Police Department on an active warrant in connection with the July 2 street robbery.

Mills was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree assault, second-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, and second-degree robbery. He was held on $100,000 bond.

Mills and Harry Thompson, 42 of Waterbury attacked two men at about 4:30 a.m. July 2 on Dr. Aaron B. Samuels Boulevard and took their money and cellphones, police said.

The two adult male victims "sustained significant facial injuries" and were transported to Danbury Hospital, police said.

Harry Thompson, 42 of Waterbury was arrested July 7 and charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree assault and second-degree larceny. He was held on $100,000 bond.

No further arrests are expected in the case, police said.
