Seven New Canine Teams Graduate From State Police Training

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Connecticut State Police Canine Training Unit recently celebrated the graduation of the 180th Patrol Canine Training Troop including seven new officers and K-9s.

The canine teams are all trained to work patrol, and have been trained in the basic areas of tracking, handler protection, evidence recovery, building searches, obedience, and classroom education.

For the K9 teams, the graduation marks the culmination of a 14-week rigorous and intense training course.

  • Bridgeport Police Department: Officer Mullenax and K9 Zeus
  • Department of Corrections:Officer Brousseau and K9 Drobec and Officer Ouellet and K9 Kai
  • Hartford Police Department: Officer Dzierzgowski and K9 Cyrus and Officer Pagan and K9 Argo
  • Milford Police Department: Officer Napoletano and K9 Mack
  • Torrington Police Department: Officer Loucks and K9 Pharaoh
