State Police Identify Motorcyclist Killed In New Fairfield Crash

NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Connecticut State Police have identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a Dec. 1 crash involving a motor vehicle in New Fairfield.

The driver of the Connecticut-licensed Kawasaki motorcycle was 32-year-old Carlos Alberto Robles Flores of 8 Corlola Lane, New Fairfield, state police said. The next of kin have been notified.

The accident took place at 2:22 p.m. Dec. 1 on Route 39, near the intersection with Old Short Woods Road, and it tied up traffic for hours.

In the accident report, Trooper Jamie Olsowy said that Robles Flores, who was traveling north, crossed the center line, and was struck by the car, driven by 21-year-old Alyssa Rabuse of New Fairfield.

Both Rabuse and Robles Flores were taken to Danbury Hospital: Rabuse had minor injuries, and Robles Flores was pronounced dead.

Rabuse had been wearing her seat belt, and the airbags in her had deployed, state police said. Both vehicles had moderate damage and were towed from the scene.
