Eric Chambers, 33, of Bridgeport was apprehended by members of the Fugitive Task Force as the result of a warrant issued for his arrest, police said

He was charged with first-degree robbery and was held on $250,000 bond, police said.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 6.

Chambers was the driver of getaway car used in the robbery in Stratford Center, according to the Connecticut Post.

Stratford police also have an arrest warrant for Jachin Brown, 27, for the case. He will be charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, first-degree threatening, criminal possession of a pistol, criminal possession of ammunition and carrying a pistol without a permit.

Brown is already in police custody and likely to be charged in court today.

He is also facing attempted murder charges for allegedly exchanging gunshots with an off-duty police officer and being involved in four robberies in Bridgeport, police said.

He was arrested Nov. 15 after shooting at an off-duty officer during a violent armed robbery at EbLens in Bridgeport, police said.

A Bridgeport police spokesman said the Robbery Squad has prepared three additional arrest warrants for Brown in the following robberies:

  • At Krausers Market: first-degree robbery;
  • At Bishops Corner: first-degree robbery; and
  • At Avenue Cafe, where a victim was shot in the leg: first-degree criminal attempt at robbery, first-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and carrying a pistol without a permit.

The warrants have been signed, and Brown will be formally charged at his next court date for a total bond of $300.000, police said. The dates of the robberies were not released.

Evidence from the Avenue Café and the BAR shooting in Stratford along with the shell casings from the EbLens robbery and shooting all were matched to the same firearm that was recovered in Brown's possession, police said.

Brown entered BAR in Stratford Center, approached the bartender and demanded money, police said. The bartender handed over cash and then Brown shot him once in the abdomen, police said.

Brown was arrested the next day, Nov. 15, after exchanging gunfire with an off-duty Bridgeport police officer outside EbLens, police said.

The off-duty officer, working at a nearby construction job after a water main break, saw a masked man, now identified as Brown, leaving EbLens at Pequonnock and Chestnut streets.

The officer followed Brown, and Brown fired a gun at the officer, police said. The officer shot back, but no one was hit, police said.

Two employees were inside EbLens at the time of the robbery. Police said Brown grabbed one of the women and dragged her by the hair, all while holding her at gunpoint and demanding money.

Brown has been held in state custody since his Bridgeport arrest. In the Nov. 15 incident, he was charged with two counts of attempt to commit murder, two counts of second-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace, first-degree robbery, reckless endangerment, carrying a dangerous weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and criminal possession of a firearm/ammunition.

Brown was held on $1.25 million bond on the Bridgeport charges and is due back in court on Nov. 28.

GoFundMe has been started to help Regi Woodard, the bartender who was shot at BAR. He has undergone multiple surgeries at Bridgeport Hospital.
