Three Norwalk Teens Busted By Wilton Cops On Drug Charges

WILTON, Conn. -- Three Norwalk teenagers are facing drug charges after they were caught with marijuana while parked on the Old Huckleberry Road causeway in Wilton early Monday, police said.

A police officer on patrol spotted a 2005 Volvo S40 parked on the causeway at about 2 a.m. Inside were three teenage men and one 18-year-old woman. The officer could smell marijuana and saw a small amount of marijuana on the center console, police said. 

The driver, identified as Jahtavius Derry, 18, of 270 W. Cedar St., was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana after he turned over some marijuana and a baggie with several broken prescription pills, police said. His bond was set at $1,000.

Benjamin Morales, 18, of 25 Chapel St., was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of alcohol after 1.5 ounces of marijuana, small plastic baggies and a bottle of blackberry brandy were discovered in his backpack, police said. His bond was set at $5,000.

Joseph Delia, 19, of 3 Libby Road, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of a dangerous weapon after a switch blade knife with a blade longer than 4 inches and a small amount of marijuana was found in his backpack, police said.

The three men have a court date of Oct. 31 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.

The 18-year-old woman in the car was not charged.
