At 2 a.m., officers received a report of a larceny at a Westport pharmacy and descriptions of the woman, two men and van involved, police said.

An officer spotted the vehicle on Riverside Avenue and tried to stop it, but the driver would not pull over, police said.

A Westport officer followed the vehicle at a safe distance and saw it exit in Norwalk and re-enter the highway traveling northbound.

Connecticut State Police began pursuing the car and it was stopped near Exit 24 with the help of Fairfield police.

One of the suspects, later identified as Calvin Smith, 43, no formal address, fled the scene, dropping a bag of stolen merchandise as he ran, police said.

He was later located by Fairfield police, and all three suspects were arrested.
