Two Thrown From Motorcycle Suffer Critical Injuries On Route 8 In Shelton

SHELTON, Conn. — Two people were in critical condition Monday after they were thrown from their motorcycle when it crashed in the median of Route 8 south late Sunday afternoon, Connecticut state police said.

Faton Osman, 27, of Wolcott lost control of his motorcycle after changing lanes at a high rate of speed just south of Exit 11 on southbound Route 8, state police said. Osman and his passenger, Ann Laconte, 28, of Stratford were both thrown from the motorcycle onto the median in the crash at 5:30 p.m.. 

Both sustained serious injuries and were listed in critical condition: Laconte was at Bridgeport Hospital and Osman was at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, state police said. 

The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the accident, State Police said. Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call Troop I in Bethany at 203-393-4200.
