The car’s owner told authorities that the Audi was taken from their home on Westport Road sometime between Saturday, Feb. 27, and Sunday, Feb. 28.

The stolen car was recovered in New Haven, police said.

Also, a wallet and debit card inside the car were taken, police said. Police did not say whether those items were recovered as well.

The victim’s neighbor, who lives on Poplar Plain Road in Westport, also reported that his car had been broken into at about the same time, Wilton police said.

That theft was reported to Westport authorities. No further details of that case were available Tuesday, Feb. 2.
