Westport Police Find No Bomb After Threat At Bridgewater Associates

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport police investigated a bomb threat at Bridgewater Associates Wednesday afternoon but no bomb was found.

Westport officers responded to Bridgewater Associates at 1 Glendinning Place at around 3 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a bomb threat. Officers established a perimeter and assisted Bridgewater Security in evacuating the building.

The Stamford Police Bomb Squad and the State Police Bomb Squad responded to search the building.

No evidence of an explosive was found, police said.

Police said the incident is being investigated to the fullest extent by the Westport Police Detective Bureau and the FBI.

Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund, is reportedly worth a total of about $100 billion. It was founded by Ray Dalio of Greenwich, the richest man in Connecticut with a net worth of over $15 billion. It employs about 1,200 people.
