Westport Police had a warrant for the arrest of Louis Bottone, 23, of 362 Funston Ave., on a sixth-degree larceny charge. His bond was set at $5,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

On Sept. 21 police arrested Bottone on a theft charge after Stop & Shop security detained him for allegedly stealing energy drinks, police said. Security told police they suspected him of also stealing energy drinks on Sept. 6.

Police began an investigation and also reviewed store security video. They eventually issued a warrant for Bottone's arrest in connection with the Sept. 6 incident, police said. Bottone was detained by Monroe Police on Saturday and handed over to Westport Police.
