WILTON, Conn. — No one was home when a blaze broke out at a home at 42 Scribner Hill Road on Wednesday afternoon, but the Wilton Fire Department was alerted by an automatic fire alarm, according to the Wilton Bulletin.

Firefighters responded at about 4 p.m. and doused it within about a half-hour, the Bulletin said.

Firefighters from Weston covered the Wilton fire headquarters, while firefighters from Westport, Ridgefield, New Canaan and Georgetown helped at the scene, the Bulletin said.

The home sustained significant heat and smoke damage from the fire, which is under investigation, the Bulletin said.
