WILTON, Conn. — A Danbury driver was charged with drinking and driving Saturday after being stopped for speeding in Wilton, according to police.

Police reportedly pulled over a vehicle at 2:15 p.m. for traveling at 55 mph in a 40-mph zone.

Upon pulling over the vehicle, the driver, Curtis W. Heard, 45, of Danbury, allegedly showed some signs of intoxication, said police.

The standard field sobriety test was conducted, and Heard allegedly showed more signs of intoxication, according to police.

He was arrested and submitted to a breath test, which showed his blood alcohol content was above the legal limit, said police.

Heard was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, and traveling too fast, said police.

His bond was set for $500, and he is due in court Tuesday, May 10, according to police.
