Wilton Police Probe Fraudulent Card Purchases

WILTON, Conn. – About $1,700 in reported fraudulent debit-card purchases were being investigated by Wilton police.

According to police, a Wilton resident noticed that about $2,500 was spent from their bank account.

Police said someone apparently used the debit card Oct. 2 to purchase items at several retail stores in New Jersey. Police also said they are not sure whether the purchases involved the victim’s card or whether someone made a duplicate card. At least one charge made on the card had been reversed, police said.
