The suspect left the bank before officers arrived.

But a short distance away, a Wilton detective located a vehicle occupied by two individuals, one of whom matched the description of the suspect, police said.

The passenger, identified as Shaquille Williams, 24, of the Bronx, was later positively identified as the suspect who attempted to pass the forged check, police said.

A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up an additional forged check in possession of the driver, Jonathon Tuck, 24,  also of the Bronx as well as evidence of the crime of identity theft, police said.

Williams and Tuck were both arrested and charged with forgery, identity theft, larceny, and conspiracy-related charges, police said.
