Legislators To Discuss State Budget In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — Connecticut’s Legislative leaders will be in Stamford to share their priorities and predictions for this current session for the Business Council of Fairfield County breakfast on Tuesday, a release from the council said.

The legislators scheduled to be in attendance: Senate President Pro Tempore Don Williams (D - Brooklyn), House Majority Leader J. Brendan Sharkey (D-Hamden), House Minority Leader Larry Cafero (R-Norwalk) and Senate Minority Leader Pro Tempore John McKinney (R-Fairfield), the release said.

The legislators will be asked to speak about Gov. Dannel Malloy’s proposed spending plan which promises to be balanced with infrastructure improvements, and no new taxes, the release said. There will be no speeches as the discussion will be moderated, and there will be a question and answer session, the release said.

Registration for the event will begin at 7:45 a.m. with the breakfast running from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Stamford Plaza Hotel & Conference Center. Ticket prices are $40 for council members and $50 for others, and can be reserved through the council by calling, 203-359-3220.
