Kydes hopes to win a seat representing District C, which covers East Norwalk. A construction and property manager professionally, he says he wants to serve on the council to develop an economic plan that could bring “a stable financial future to Norwalk.”

“I have met with folks and I have found that we all share one common concern: higher taxes,” Kydes said in a press release.

Kydes and his wife, Naomi, have two children in the Norwalk Public Schools system and are frequently involved in school organizations. In his campaign announcement, Kydes says he would “be the voice on the Common Council, for parents with children in the Norwalk school system.”

Though he has always lived in East Norwalk, Kydes has never held elected office in town. He is running or the council as a Democrat but says he plans to reach across party lines if elected in November.

“Political party conflict is not allowing Norwalk to improve,” Kydes said. “We need to remember that we are all Norwalkers.”
