Here are in the winners in the House races:
- In District 143 incumbent Republican Gail Lavielle was cruising to victory by 9:30 p.m. as she held a commanding lead over Democrat Keith Rodgerson. The district also includes parts of Norwalk and Westport.
- In District 125, that is centered in New Canaan but includes a portion of Wilton, incumbent Republican Tom O'Dea easily fended off Green Party candidate David Bedell.
In the Senate race in Wilton:
- In District 26 Incumbent Toni Boucher beat Democratic challenger Philip Sharlach for the seat, which also includes parts of New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Bethel, Weston and Westport.
This is three victories in a row for Boucher, who had previously served for 12 years as state representative for the 143rd District.
Lavielle also made it three in a row after first capturing the district in 2010 from Democrat Peggy Reeves, a rare Democrat to serve in the Republican stronghold. The Republican has made winning a habit as she pushes for the state to control its spending.
All results are unofficial until certified by the secretary of the state.
