Before the rally began, a few protesters were removed from the crowd by security. And a few more were booted near the start of the rally with Trump calling, "Take them out" to cheers from the crowd.

Trump brought a local message to his Bridgeport audience, blasting the loss of more than 60 percent of its manufacturing jobs since 1990 and the move of Fairfield-based General Electric to Massachusetts.

"You should be ashamed of yourselves, I'm sorry to say," Trump said of Connecticut's loss of GE.

He continued to pound the economic message, also pointing out that Connecticut's median income has dropped $6,000, "and you're working harder than ever."
