The Realtors shared their views on issues including updating the state’s foreclosure laws, creating a more favorable tax climate for home building and buying, and studying flood areas and updating flood insurance regulations. They also urged legislators to avoid passing new laws that would make completing real estate transactions more difficult by introducing new taxes, fees or mandates.

“Realtors are a bellwether for the state’s economy. It is vitally important to listen to what they say and to understand their perspective,” Lavielle said in a statement. “I share their concerns about the impact of Connecticut’s population loss on the real estate market. I always learn a great deal from Realtors about the general public’s feelings about key economic issues and what people in my district are thinking about transportation, jobs, education, and quality of life."
