WILTON, Conn. – State Rep. Gail Lavielle recently testified on a number of bills that could improve Connecticut’s economic and business climate.

Lavielle, a Republican, represents the 143rd District, which includes parts of Wilton, Norwalk, and Westport.

Lavielle testified before the Labor and Commerce Committees on the following bills, all related to removing barriers to business growth and job creation, according to a press release from her office.

  • HB 5516: An Act Adjusting the Prevailing Wage Thresholds.
  • HB 5660: An Act Concerning the Proper Use of Economic Development Financial Assistance.
  • HB 5851: An Act Concerning Unemployment Compensation Reform.
  • HB 5874: An Act Preventing the Labor Department from Unilaterally Instituting Unemployment Tax Increases.
  • HB 5986: An Act Extending Enterprise Zone Benefits and Tax Exemptions to Businesses in Connecticut’s Cities.
  • HB 6250: An Act Concerning Private Contributions to Public Works Projects and the Prevailing Wage Standard, a bill that Lavielle co-introduced.
