In this hands-on workshop, artist Kathy Coe will teach attendees how to create their own unique and personalized handmade journal, as well as show them how to use mixed media to explore the art journaling process.

A $5 materials fee will be collected at the door.

“This workshop is all about expression, creativity, letting go, moving forward, remembering and reflecting. There are no rules in art journaling, all you have to do is come and start journaling and let it take you where it will,” said Coe.

Coe studied at the DuCret School of Art in New Jersey, the Pratt Institute and The National Academy of Fine Art and Design in New York with Dr. Furman Finck, Ronald Sherr, Harvey Dinnerstein and Mary Beth Mckenzie.

She has won numerous awards for her work including: The Elizabeth Green Shields Grant, The National Academy Lorraine Grace award, The Edward Mooney Traveling Scholarship, The National Academy Annual Helen M. Loggi award, The James Sudan Bronze medal and The Salmugundi Silver Medal for drawing.

This program is part of "Tell Your Story," a new series of programs featuring the many ways one can capture their own personal or family history---digitally, with art, using technology, sound, etc.

This series is made possible with funding from colleagues of Nick Donofrio in recognition of his personal journey and pride of family. Click here for a full listing of programs and workshops in the Tell Your Story series.
