On Thursday, AMA Laboratories was raided, as federal agents reportedly removed boxes and files containing undisclosed records. The joint investigation is being conducted by members of the District Attorney’s Investigations Unit, the FBI and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
According to the AMA website, the company “has been conducting efficacy and claim support testing for skincare, haircare, cosmetics and drug products for over 30 years.” An official could not be immediately reached for comment on Friday afternoon, though they plan to continue operating normally as the investigation continues, according to multiple reports.
