DARIEN, Conn.  - Kensett, the first new home community to be built in Darien in a generation, recently won the National Association of Home Builders gold awards for “best clubhouse design” and “best attached home plan.”

The new community also was given silver awards for “neighborhood of the year” and “best landscape design.”

Kensett is planned for 62 homes, a clubhouse, pool and other features. Homes range in size from 3,200 to 4,400 square feet, with starting prices from $1.3 million to $1.65 million.

Bill McGuinness of Sun Homes and Bob Dale of Buckingham Partners joined with Clarion Partners to develop Kensett, now under construction on 16 acres.

The awards were announced in Las Vegas at The Nationals, the largest competition for new home design of its kind in the country.
